Eight (8) Full Time Custodial Workers

We are looking for 8 Full Time responsible custodial workers to maintain different facilities throughout Miami-Dade.

The incumbent is responsible for the daily housekeeping and custodial duties at locations assigned following established schedules. Independently follows policies and procedures and manufactures recommendations for cleaning and safety, utilizing correct supplies, tools and equipment. Incumbent will utilize judgment and decision making in responding appropriately for observed custodial and safety issues. Incumbent will establish good rapport with staff and clients and provide positive customer service. Incumbent is expected to adhere to established Health Department policies and procedures. The job is from Monday thru Friday for eight (8) office hours.

Restrooms are maintained clean and sanitized throughout the day. Replenish paper towels, toilet tissue and soap in all restrooms as needed. Clean, mop, scrub, grout clean, all sinks, fixtures and mirrors, walls, partitions, floors, etc.
Dust, wash and sanitize all surfaces to include walls, furniture, chairs, counter and table tops, file cabinets, window sills, window treatments, doors, hand rails, assigned equipment, etc.

Sweeps, mops, scrubs, and vacuums floors and stairwells as needed or assigned throughout the day. Immediately cleans/ mops liquids/solid spills, stains, residues related to any incident, as needed, requested or as observed throughout the facility.

Wash and clean all interior/exterior glass doors, windows and enclosures throughout facility.

Clean /polish / inspects drinking fountains. Maintains custodial storage and supply closets organized and clean.

Gathers and empties trash/recycling containers throughout the facility, making sure they are free of contaminates. Follows bio hazardous waste policies and procedures.
Sweep and clean interior/exterior walkways and doorways around facility. Assist in keeping outside premises and parking areas in an orderly condition, free of leaves, trash, debris, etc.

Completes appropriate floor treatments as scheduled or assigned including vacuuming, mopping, buffing, burnishing, scrubbing, stripping, waxing, grout cleaning, pressure cleaning, etc ( this is tentative task at the moment). Utilizes proper equipment and supplies for tasks, following manufactures recommendations and safety protocols. Reports equipment malfunctions.

Completes special cleaning/ setup / assignments, such as refrigerators etc Reports facility/safety issues that require resolution.

Performs other related duties as assigned.

Skills

• Proven experience as custodian, janitor or in a similar role
• Knowledge of safe disposal of chemical liquids and other hazardous components
• Attention to detail and conscientiousness
• Very good physical condition and strength
• High school diploma is preferred but not required
• MUST be legal to work in the US
• MUST pass a criminal background check
• MUST have a valid Drivers License
• SOME English is required
